With our style, we tend to attract couples who we mesh with really well. Sydney & Corey were no exception. They’re spectacular, hilarious and have a seriously good taste in music. Spending the day photographing their wedding in Richmond was definitely one for the books. There were so many tears, laughs and some pretty kick ass dancing.

It’s so funny.
On the days that we are the busiest, I have the most self doubt. We run our own businesses and i’ve determined it doesn’t just take persistence and hard work, it also takes belief. Belief that what your doing makes a difference, that it makes people happy, that if you weren’t there in that moment that it wouldn’t be caught the way you would have.
We wake up in the morning with this idea of getting things accomplished, of pushing boundaries. Then we get on our computer, get caught up in other people’s posts, their award announcements, their travel notices, their ‘new amazing clients they booked for a wedding on a mountain with a rainbow and singing miniature horses!” Then self doubt engulfs us. No matter how much we believe in ourselves, we all have these days. No matter how many other business we see around us, we need to remember we are all completely different. In every moment we will all see something different, we will shoot it at a different angle, we will capture someone else’s sadness, happiness or surprise. The same moments happen every day, but we’re there to show how life is from our perspective.
We’re not just photographers, we’re artists. We love what we do and every moment of self doubt is crumbled by every moment we’ve been there to share.
So work harder, constantly grow and feed your inner creative self. In these moments of self doubt, no matter how much work you have to do, step away. Leave your phone at home. Write down every self doubt your having in that moment, of why you’re not good enough, why you don’t think you should continue on this road of being an artist, crumble it up and throw it away. Go for a drive, stand on the side of the road and watch the cars pass by, be inspired by the wind and the trees. Most of all find the reason you love what you do because if you don’t, someone else won’t be able to.
all those thoughts in your head.
So, I think when we got this email we squealed. Milan & Jordan wanted to celebrate one year of being married in DC before they moved out to Los Angeles! And let me tell you, flipping adorable.
